The Red Fern Pet Lodge is always committed to providing the safest and cleanest environment for your pup.
Like many other small businesses, we are temporarily adapting some of our procedures as we receive new information on how to respond to the COVID-19 situation as a dog daycare and boarding facility. COVID-19 is no currently known to be a threat to dogs.
What the CDC says about COVID-19 & pets
“ In the United States, there is no evidence to suggest that any animals, including pets, livestock, or wildlife, might be a source of COVID-19 infection at this time. However, because all animals can carry germs that can make people sick, it’s always a good idea to practice healthy habits around pets and other animals.”
While there is no threat to dogs at this time it is always important to maintain good hygienic practices with animals by washing your hands after you touch them and giving them regular baths - which we offer here at the Red Fern!
New Procedures at the Red Fern
In an effort to reduce exposure in our heavy traffic areas, we are now offering our curbside concierge in our parking lot! Our team will come to you to retrieve and deliver your pup! Once your pup has been dropped off, we wipe them down with a vet-recommended chlorhexidine + water solution as an additional sanitizing procedure. Our staff steps in a sanitizing solution before entering the facility. All facility door handles, faucets, switches, etc. are sanitized daily as well as containments.
Please know we are staying up-to-date with all the developments and putting into place the new health and safety procedures suggested for dog boarding and daycare facilities. We appreciate your continued support and wish you and your family health and well-being during this time.
